Last day
Morning Devotional
Matthew 5: 13
The devotion asked what the difference is between a salt shaker and a salt packet. I didn't really understand how one is better than the other.
What I do realize is that this parable explains that salt is sacred. Am I salt? Am I sacred? Do I keep God close to me and treat Him as sacred salt or do I share Him?
Journal
And to follow up from last night....The stars were unreal! Out of this world! Amazing!
There was no moon and one star that was so bright that you couldn't see the stars around it. Once again I see how my world just junks up the sky so we can't see what God gave us. Isn't cool how we can't just take a picture of things like that?! We try and try, but it just doesn't look the same as it does in person.
I have learned so much here. I need to be a part of a medical mission trip. And, if God allows, next time Eric and I go on a mission trip, the kids are coming too! There are just so many lessons here for them to learn, there is so much God here for them to see. I also must, have to, yes God I am listening, find my mission at home. These conditions are hard and I cannot imagine, but I believe that finding similar conditions in the States wouldn't be too hard. And what to do when I find this place God wants me love? Love. Spread Salt. Feed them. Hug them. Help them. I am so thankful for home; for the freedoms it ensures, the community it provides, but while here the poor live in huts with no walls, we hide our poor. We push them into places the eyes can't see. We shun them, shame them, then we get appalled by the violence and behavior of people we have not loved. Yes, that is where I need to be.

Items can be considered sacred and then become idols. When, through faith, anything can be a sacred item. Including people and God uses broken people. Bam! God's amazing.
No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:15-16 I am an artist created to create! Painting has become my therapy, outlet, journal, and worship. I am a wife and mother to three creatives that always inspire me every day. I hope you enjoy this glimpse into my life and work.
