Morning Devotional
John 4
His disciples saw the need for food and Jesus was tired, thirsty and hungry. The he saw how hungry the woman was. He could no longer be hungry or thirsty. He saw the need to harvest and to bring more children back to God. If we are so preoccupied with our needs for food, comfort, feeling accepted, money, whatever - we will miss the opportunity and blessing for harvesting because we simple won't see it. My vision must change!
Evening Journal
Today was kinda uneventful compared to yesterday. I became ill during church and slept a lot of the afternoon.
I did gain some insight to the culture of the people here. The kids are innocent. They love church, even if it is for the fun stuff the North Americans bring. Then they become boys, then teenagers and it is clear that their intentions change. There are rarely men at the services. It makes me very thankful for Eric. I know we have our issues, but I am very thankful that he is a God fearing man. I see the use of a men's ministry here. Roy is our Nicaraguan leader/translator here. He has spent a lot of time in Miami and traveling. I think that is what makes him different. I see why they don't agree with all Christianity teaches; there is someone else for wives to listen to, women independence, being righteous, etc.. I have met some men from home who believe similar. Looking and diving deeper into God I see that I am righteous and God is my absolute, but 2nd to Him is Eric. God would never send me a different direction that my husband unless there was a greater purpose for His will. And if Eric is living the will of God then I will be following in His will also.
Ohh! and I gave my testimony.
Evening Devotional
Luke 4
The devil tempted Jesus 3 times (I have seen 2 devil attempts on us so far)
Jesus learned 3 truths from those temptations:
1. People do not live on bread alone
2. You must worship the Lord your God and serve only Him
3. You must not test the Lord your God
